Who we are
Mission & Values
What we stand for, and how we approach the work of educational theatre.
Our Mission
Creative learning for every student
To provide creative learning opportunities for all students — regardless of race, gender, or ability — through our theatre course offerings and mainstage productions. Our goal is to foster creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and self-expression through rigorous theatre performance and technical courses.
Our Values
What we believe
We believe that all students, regardless of their current level of ability, have the capacity for growth in the realms of theatre performance and technical theatre.
We believe that students should be graded and coached based on their own ability level and growth, not against other students.
We believe that the highly personal artistic journey is unique for each individual artist.
We believe that growth in learning the theatrical arts occurs during the creative process. As such, the focus of learning is on the individual student’s process, not the end product.
We believe that respect and creative collaboration between actors, technicians, crew members, and the production team are paramount in creating a productive theatrical ensemble and a positive creative environment — and that such an environment is critical for educational theatre.
